Responses to Haiti Quake

It is so nice to hear of all the support in Haiti.  Interior Design.net let me know about Architecture for Humanity's efforts.  They will be helping with the rehabilitation effort of the homes and building in Haiti.

2010 Color Of The Year~Turquoise

                                                          Pantone announces color of 2010

How does turquoise make you feel?  The combination of the blue and green may remind you of tropical waters or beautiful jewelry, but one thing is for sure....It is serene and relaxes your mind from the troubles of the day.  Look at all the blue and turquoise colors from the picture I snapped in Costa Rica.  I see tons of color schemes there!

“In many cultures, Turquoise occupies a very special position in the world of color,” explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “It is believed to be a protective talisman, a color of deep compassion and healing, and a color of faith and truth, inspired by water and sky. Through years of color word-association studies, we also find that Turquoise represents an escape to many – taking them to a tropical paradise that is pleasant and inviting, even if only a fantasy.”

Turquoise does evoke a tranquil feeling, a sense of well being and renewing of your spirits.  Paint turquoise in areas where you want to relax and feel calm and serene such as bedrooms, bathrooms and even a ceiling in your favorite room!  For some inspiration...
